Donte Grantham suffers right knee injury

by - Assoc. Editor -

Clemson Basketball got the crucial home victory over Notre Dame on Saturday but had one of their starters go down with a potentially serious injury.

Senior Donte Grantham went down with a right knee injury as the knee buckled during a drive to the basket at the 10:54 mark of the second half. He was helped off to the locker room and then was seen with ice on his knee watching on the bench during the final few minutes of the win.

For the game, he had a solid 11 points, three rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and a steal against the Fighting Irish. He has averaged an impressive 14.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game this season.

During Brad Brownell's postgame press conference, he said that he didn't know the extent of Grantham's injury status but they will be doing an MRI shortly on the knee.

"He's had a very good year for us and we hope it's not over," Brownell said.

Brownell asked everyone for good thoughts and prayers for Grantham as the team deals with the injury.
