The reigning national champs start where they finished this past season.

Clemson men's soccer was ranked No. 1 in the United Soccer Coaches poll on Tuesday.

Mike Noonan's squad leads a Top 6 that has four ACC teams total in Notre Dame (2), Stanford (5) and North Carolina (6). SMU (10), Virginia (13), Wake Forest (15), Duke (20) Louisville (24) and Syracuse (25) are also in the ranking.

Clemson went 15-3-5 to take a second national title in three seasons, topping the Irish in the national championship game, 2-1.

The Tigers play their first exhibition on Saturday in Charlotte versus the 49ers (7 p.m.) and host Mobile on Aug. 13 (7 p.m.). The season starts with Penn State coming to Riggs Field on Aug. 22 (7 p.m.).

Clemson women start No. 5 (school news release)

CLEMSON, S.C. – As the start of the 2024 Fall season approaches, the Clemson Tigers women's soccer team have been placed at No. 5 in the preseason rankings as announced by the United Soccer Coaches on Tuesday.

The Tigers are coming off a historic 2023 season with their first College Cup appearance in program history. Clemson finished No. 3 in the United Soccer Coaches final season rankings and were consistently ranked in the Top 25 for the majority of the 2023 campaign.

The Tigers are set to open up the fall season at Auburn on August 15 as they will look to secure their first victory of the 2024 campaign. On August 18, Clemson will open up it’s home slate as they host High Point at Historic Riggs Field with the match starting at 5 p.m.
