Former Top 50 prospect to transfer to Clemson |
Elijah Thomas, a 6-9, 235-pound freshman at Texas A&M, decided to transfer to Clemson Wednesday afternoon. Thomas was ranked No. 31 in the country by ESPN coming out of Lancaster (TX) and chose the Aggies over offers from Illinois, Oklahoma State and SMU.
He helped his high school with the 2015 5A state title last season. Thomas averaged 9.5 minutes this season, with 3.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and one block a game. He only played in 79 minutes since the start of the season due to an injury caused by stepping on a sea urchin. I chose Clemson because of the opportunities at hand to better myself in a great conference," Thomas told ESPN's Jeff Goodman. "Also, the history and the players who played at Clemson were very successful, so the chance to be a part of that makes me want to work hard and win at Clemson." Big man Elijah Thomas told ESPN he will transfer to Clemson. Big-time get for Brad Brownell & Co. Texas A&M transfer.
