Friday Email Bag
Each Friday I publish your comments and answer your questions. To submit a comment or questions, please email me at [email protected] Mickey, You do a great job & I enjoy reading your material. I am a 1968 grad & was surprised that there was no mention at all of Buddy Gore. He was in my class & we won 3 straight ACC Championships & he led the way in rushing. Back then rushing was a much bigger part of the offense though we were fortunate to have a very good quarterback in Jimmy Addison. Gore did not catch many passes, but had a huge catch for a TD on the wheel route when we beat an unbeaten top 10 team in the Valley. I thought he should have at least been mentioned in the others at the end. Bo

Thanks for the very kind words. I have heard great things about Buddy Gore and have a lot of respect for him. I wish I could have seen him play. However, my list consisted of players I have seen in person. I began watching Clemson football in 1974 and missed some great ones before that.
Mickey, as I struggle to look into my crystal ball to see how the Tigers will do this year, the media will anoint FSU as the champion, and with good reason, except for their offensive line. Our defense will get the well deserved hype and they will be good. Defense wins championships, right? In my opinion what wins the game for us is our offensive line. We have unproven game day key players, but many sins can be overcome with a solid offensive line. FSU had all the skill last year, but just ask Francois what he would like for Christmas. We will be just fine. The crystal ball might seem a bit fuzzy right now, but I am sure it will be much clearer come November 11.
FSU will have an advantage at quarterback, running back and in the secondary. Clemson’s advantages will be on the lines of scrimmage. Also Clemson has the home field advantage. At this point, I think Clemson will beat FSU, but there is a lot of things that will change between now and November.
It didn’t take Anonymous08 long to start up his crap again. What can we do to get his garbage banned? Some of us want to enjoy the website without his garbage. Is there a way I can ignore his antics on the wenbsite. I doubt you can do anything but can Crump?
You cannot please everyone, and everyone is entitled to their opinions. My suggestion is to email Crump to see if there is any ignore feature on TigerNet.
