Clemson 2017 quarterback commit Hunter Johnson was named the quarterback MVP in the Chicago Opening Regional camp on Saturday and was invited to the prestigious Elite 11 quarterback finals June 3-5 in Los Angeles.

As a junior, Johnson passed for 2,545 yards with 31 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. In 2014, he completed 54% of his passes for 1,434 passing yards with ten touchdowns and eight interceptions.

The other Clemson 2017 quarterback commit Chase Brice was also awarded an invite to the Nike Elite 11 quarterback camp after he was named quarterback MVP at the Atlanta Opening Regional Camp back on March 20.

In 2014, he completed 126 passes out of 202 attempts for 1759 yards with 19 touchdowns and only six interceptions. Brice passed for 2703 yards, 29 touchdowns and 9 interceptions to lead his team to a 13-1 record and Class 6A state semifinals.

The Tigers have two of the top 15 quarterbacks in the nation (13.33% Clemson) that will be competing in the event in June.

The fifteen quarterback invited nationally are Kellen Mond, Jake Allen, Chase Garbers, Tate Martell, Shawn Robinson, Chase Brice, Jake Fromm, Chris Robison, Davis Mills, Sam Ehlinger, Tommy Devitto, Lowell Narcisse, Mac Jones, Myles Brennan, and Sean Clifford.
