considers himself a blue-collar football player, and as such he wanted to avoid all of the glitz and glamour that accompanies a big commitment ceremony.

The three-star athlete out of Easley (SC) committed to the Tigers Monday evening, becoming Clemson’s sixth commitment of the 2014 recruiting cycle.

Monday afternoon, in what Fuller called unexpected fashion.

“I just wanted to be different. I didn’t want to do it expectedly,” Fuller told TigerNet Monday evening. “I wanted it to be completely unexpected. A lot of people already thought that I was going to pick Clemson, so I just wanted to announce it unexpectedly.”

Despite Swinney’s excitement, his first order of business was to explain to Fuller how serious the Clemson coaches take the word ‘commitment.’

“Today after practice, I called Coach Swinney and told him that I was ‘All In’. He got really excited,” Fuller said. “He was happy and proud. He was just telling me that commitment to Clemson is like a marriage, and that I would have to end my recruitment. He said that I can’t take any more visits and can’t talk to any more coaches. I told him that that’s what I wanted to do.”

Fuller grew up a Clemson fan and made his dreams come true with his commitment to the Tigers.

He said his family fully supported his decision.

“They are really excited about it,” he said. “I kind of grew up a Clemson fan so they are really excited that I am getting to accomplish a childhood dream. I’ve just got to do the right thing in the classroom now and I’ll be there.”

ACC foe North Carolina State caught Fuller’s eye, but the Clemson experience was too much for the Wolfpack to overcome.

“N.C. State was number two on my list,” he said. “They are a good school and I liked them a lot, but it’s just hard to beat Clemson and I don’t think anybody can.”

In the end, it was Swinney that won over Fuller.

“Just everything. On gameday, how the fans are and how the coaches are,” he said. “I like how the coaches treat their players and how Coach Swinney treats his players. I like his love of the game, how much he cares for his players, and the relationship he has with his players. You don’t get that at other colleges. I just thought it was unique and that is what really brought me to Clemson.”

Fuller was recruited as an athlete, but he believes that he does his best work at running back.

“I’m going to come in as an athlete, but I’ll be a running back when I get there,” Fuller said. “A running back that can read the field. A hard working running back. A running back that’s not scared of contact and a person that is willing to go out there and give it my all.”

As a junior, Fuller rushed 206 times for 2,088 yards, an average of 10.1 yards per carry. He also scored nine touchdowns. Against Wren, he set the Easley school single-game rushing record with 16 carries for 309 yards and four touchdowns.

As a sophomore, he rushed 117 times for 712 yards, a 6.1 yards per carry average, with seven touchdowns.
