Trevor Lawrence tops ESPN's CFB best players list |

ESPN released its 2019 top-50 players in college football list on Monday and Clemson's Trevor Lawrence leads the way.
"Lawrence didn't win the starting job until Week 5, but once he was atop the Clemson depth chart, the only remaining question was -- what took so long?" ESPN writes. "Lawrence finished with 30 touchdown passes, just four picks and 3,280 yards passing to go with a national championship trophy. Not bad for a true freshman. Now the biggest question is how he can possibly top such an impressive debut campaign." Joining Lawrence in the top-10 is 2018 ACC player of the year Travis Etienne (8) and dynamic sophomore target Justyn Ross (10). Also in the top-25 players are wide receiver Tee Higgins (19), defensive end Xavier Thomas (21) and linebacker Isaiah Simmons (23). Alabama paced the list with 10 representatives, led by QB Tua Tagovailoa (2) and WR Jerry Jeudy (3). Lawrence also topped fellow Heisman favorite Tagovailoa in the Pro Football Focus top-50 players list.
