Three-star 2019 Williamsport, Maryland defensive tackle Tayquon Johnson committed to Clemson in a announcement Monday.
Johnson visited Clemson over the weekend with family for a second stop on campus this year. Around the visit, he announced a top-10 including Alabama, Penn State, Georgia, Kentucky, UNC, Texas A&M, Virginia, Rutgers, and Temple. Johnson is rated as high as the No. 31 defensive tackle in the nation by 247Sports. He is a 12th commit for Clemson’s 2019 class, bumping the Tigers’ 247Sports team ranking from seventh to fourth (196.40) - trailing only Alabama (12 commits, 236.09 rating), Oklahoma (11 commits, 212.14) and Texas A&M (12 commits, 202.26). Johnson is Clemson’s first commit on the defensive line and a sixth defensive commit overall, joining linebackers Keith Maguire and Bryton Constantin, safeties Lannden Zanders and Joseph Charleston and cornerback Sheridan Jones. Of Clemson's 12 commitments, their high schools represent eight different states outside of South Carolina so far. #We2deep2019 #ALLIN @CoachToddBates @MiguelChavis65 @CoachVenables pic.twitter.com/BGGDOmml4D
