Swinney, team have 'a blast' at Venables' expense in Monday meeting |
The coaches aren't safe from the blooper reel on Clemson football's Monday meeting "hit video," as Clemson coach Dabo Swinney detailed on his call-in show Monday.
Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables called quite the game, but TV caught a couple moments that amused the Tigers' head coach and team. "Oh yeah, he slipped, and boy, did we have fun with that today," Swinney said with a laugh. "It was so much fun. First of all, we had a very, very shaky catch by Coach V on the sideline that he quickly got rid of and threw to coach (Joey) Batson. Then he slipped and the TV caught him getting up and he kinda limped down the sidelines. We gave him up the creek in the meeting. It was a blast." At one point, Clemson co-offensive coordinator Jeff Scott caught O-line coach Robbie Caldwell by surprise: "It was a tough game for everybody. Physical on the sidelines too," Swinney said with a laugh.
