Is it? Why incorporate stats from a different league into the MLB stats? They weren't MLB games, or teams, or players.
I'm not downplaying the fact that there were tremendous players in the Negro Leagues that would have been successful in MLB. But, why not list "baseball stats" as a consolidated thing, and keep MLB stats relevant only to MLB games.

Just to elevate wokeness. No reason to add them to the same stats from MLB. If you want to respect them and post them, fine. But it's not the same, never will be the same.

Because it is similar to the stats that Babe Ruth or Ty Cobb had. Those guys didn't play against all of the top talent. Now that the league is integrated, after a 3 year study among players, retired and present, as well as others in the league, it is what they came up with. I like it. Gives the respect.

The numbers may be similar but combining them is stupid. They were not in the same leagues and did not face the same competition.
Sure, have a combined "Baseball Stats" where you can see all-time with Negro and MLB combined. But "MLB stats" should be only MLB players.

True...maybe Babe Ruth didn't play against the best. That is true. None of them played against the best overall in either league. It wasn't integrated. It is an odd issue though. It's tricky. Personally I like it. I can't see why some might not. Players overall like it though.

I equate it to being in the minors. Guys like Jackie Robinson and Willie Mays got their starts there before being "called up". No MLB player compiles their stats with minor league stats.

I read about this on ESPN this morning. It was really interesting regarding the 5 or 6 leagues back in the early 1900s. I would link it but too tired.
