Mickey,

Just curious. I hear Deptula talk about Ettiene and now Dixon. He thinks these are going to be the go to backs as the season goes on.

I do not understand what he does not see and what I have seen in Tavien Feaster.

Does anyone not remember the 89 yard huge run in Raleigh. The 60 yard sprint after the catch at VA Tech ? Do you think he would have been caught from behind Saturday after 60 some odd yards?

I think Tavien Feaster could start for most schools. His only getting 3 carries on Saturday will surely not help his confidence. Also, having Choice ahead of him is ridiculous and I hope that takes care of itself soon on the depth chart.

As a fan, I would much rather see the ball in his hands running than either of our QB's

Anyway, time to step up in College Station.

Go Tigers !

Bill

Bill,

I think Etienne has earned the starting role. Where the battle is not decided yet is the backup roles. I think Choice, Feaster, and Dixon all bring something different to the table. I think all three will have moments of positive and negative as the season progresses, and those roles may change. Feaster did look like the lost weight may have made him a little quicker though. Let’s see how the season goes and see how this staff uses each back because at this point I am not sure who the second best back is.

Mickey,

Who had more snaps, Bryant or Lawrence? Thanks.

Ty

Ty,

Each had five drives. Bryant had 32 plays for 225 yards and produced 17 points. Lawrence had 29 plays for 263 yards and produced 31 points.

Here is how each drive turned out:

Bryant

11 plays, 31 yards, drive ended on downs

4 plays, 57 yards, touchdown

4 plays, 2 yards, field goal

9 plays, 56 yards, downs

4 plays, 79 yards, touchdown

Lawrence

9 plays, 30 yards, field goal

10 plays, 95 yards, touchdown

5 plays, 38 yards, touchdown

3 plays, 92 yards, touchdown

2 plays, 12 yards, touchdown

Hey Mickey! After hearing about how Deon Cain and Ray Ray McCloud have gotten injured before the NFL season has even begun, I have been wondering why it seems that so many of our former Tigers get hurt in their first year in the NFL. I’m sure that the specific reasons are varied. But when you start thinking about all of the players that have gotten hurt in their first year like Shaq Lawson, Sammy Watkins, CJ Spiller, Deon Cain, Ray Ray McCloud, Jordan Leggett, and Deshawn Watson (which is just what I recall at the spur of the moment) I start to wonder why so many. Is this common with other schools? Is there something that we can do to help our players stay healthier when they go off into the NFL? Am I being concerned about nothing? Help me Obi Wan Plyler…you’re my only hope!

William

William,

I think you pay attention to Clemson players. FSU might ask the same thing about players like Benjamin and Cook. Injuries happen. I think you pay attention to Clemson players.
