said that the Clemson coaching staff stuck with him after his recent season-ending knee injury and it meant a lot to him according to an interview with the Clayton News Daily.

“They have been with me all through this,” Cooper said. “That relationship really meant a lot to me.”

One of his high school coaches agreed that Clemson was very loyal and stayed in contact with his star quarterback. “Clemson kept checking in on him,” offensive coordinator Nate Wardlaw told the Clayton News Daily.

“They really wanted him. I feel this will be a good fit for Coop. He has a challenge to develop and he will fit right in with their system.”

Having Cooper come in and learn from Deshaun Watson sounds like a good fit for the young promising quarterback. “It is a good situation because Deshaun will be a junior when Coop arrives,” Wardlaw said. “He will have a year under his wings to develop and learn the system.”
