Pitt coach talks Clemson, predicts Lawrence as a future No. 1 pick

by - Assoc. Editor -

Pittsburgh head coach Pat Narduzzi spoke to the media on Wednesday to preview Saturday night's 2018 ACC title game against No. 2 Clemson.

Narduzzi is excited about the chance to play for an ACC title, a first opportunity for the Panthers.

"It's a great opportunity," he said. "We are going to have to buckle them up and go down there and play a football game. I got a lot of respect for Dabo and the type of team he has got, as far as the players and the coaches they do, It's a good football team. Rightfully so, they are the No. 2 team in the country. Maybe No. 1 in the country. I think they're really good. If you watch tape, both sides of the ball, really all three phases of football, they are a complete football team. They got players all over the place and have a great scheme."

Narduzzi has been very impressed with the play of freshman signal-caller Trevor Lawrence.

"The guy is smooth. He’s really good. This guy is a future first-round quarterback period. No 1. pick I think. He’s got the best release I have ever seen."

Lawrence has thrown for 2,488 yards, and 22 touchdown passes this season.
