Clemson dropped out of
the Baseball America top 25 for the first time since 2016 after suffering a second-straight ACC weekend series sweep.
The Tigers (25-15, 11-10 ACC) are no longer ranked there or with the D1Baseball poll, which dropped them out of their rankings as well earlier this season. Clemson has lost seven in a row overall and in ACC play. The last time they were unranked in the Baseball America poll, Monte Lee’s group recovered to finish the regular season No. 9 and won the ACC Tournament after returning to the ranking as late as the May 9, 2016 edition. The Tigers look to stop the skid in Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Tuesday versus Winthrop (RPI of 166; 23-16) and then travel to 11 Georgia Tech this weekend.
