Playing time breakdown: 100-plus Tigers see field again versus Wofford

by - Staff Writer -

Clemson topped the 100-player mark for the second time this season, sending out 105 Tigers in the blowout win over Wofford after a record 111 105 Tigers.

The Tigers continued to hold a number of freshmen still eligible to redshirt for later action, including going with walk-on Patrick McClure over Taisun Phommachanh for QB3 action late. Phommachanh has one game to play to stay redshirt-eligible.

After being referenced earlier in this week as playing out his rookie campaign, Ruke Orhorhoro did play in his fifth game. Offensive linemen Mason Trotter, Hunter Rayburn and Kaleb Boateng all reached their fourth game and will likely watch the rest of the season from the sidelines.

In the young players seeing action category, Jake Venables played a career-high 35 snaps and totaled four tackles for loss in his eight stops on Saturday.
