LOOK: Clemson breaks out 'Orange Britches' with division on line

by -

Clemson kicked off at NC State with the Atlantic Division on the line.

That means it's time for the 'Orange Britches,' which Clemson coach Dabo Swinney saves for occasions where his Tigers are playing for a title.

"They're excited. It just kinda worked out. I told the equipment guy to pack them just in case," Swinney told ESPN prior to kickoff. "Every game for us is playoff football. This is championship phase. This is best of one. Tonight we have an opportunity to punch a trip to Charlotte."

A Wake Forest loss at Virginia Tech paved the way for the possible Clemson clincher, which will be a fifth in a row if the Tigers can take care of business versus the Wolfpack Saturday night.

Clemson is a 35-point favorite over NC State and seeking a 25th win a row and a 10-0 start this season.

The last time Clemson wore orange pants was in the national championship versus Alabama, a 44-16 win. Clemson warmed up in its typical white pants before heading to change before kickoff on Saturday.
