Clowney on teammates from Clemson: "We got too many" |
Houston Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is looking for a big season for his team in 2017. However, he has noticed that his NFL team is rapidly transforming into some sort of Clemson reunion team with six former Tigers on the roster with Deshaun Watson, DeAndre Hopkins, D.J. Reader, Carlos Watkins, Germone Hopper, and Marcus Gilchrist.
"I was just asking coach what’s with all the Clemson guys out here. We got too many," Clowney joked to HERO Sports. "But no man, when they come here, everyone is family, and we all work together to help each other get better. We just want guys to come in, work hard and prepare like a pro. [Watkins] has been doing that so far and we’re looking for a big season from him." Clowney is excited about what Deshaun Watson can bring to the table for the team's offense. "He’s an athlete. Nobody can really prepare for a running quarterback in this league," Clowney said. "He can run and make throws on the run. That’s what I like about him. He can do everything and has the all-around talent to help this team to get better. I’m looking forward to watching him play this year." Clowney had six sacks last season for the Texans and looking to work with Reader, Watkins, and others to increase his total this season.
