Clemson's first 2026 reported offer is out.
Four-star Cornelius, North Carolina cornerback Samari Matthews, known as Smoke, announced the news on Friday morning. "Humble and blessed to receive an offer from @ClemsonFB. Thank you @CUCoachReed really appreciate it," Matthews said of the offer on social media. He is rated as high as the No. 17 player overall and the No. 2 cornerback in the class (Rivals). Matthews' offers have picked up this month, with Ohio State, Georgia and Notre Dame also in the mix in the past 30 days, joining Alabama, Florida, Tennessee and more Power programs. Clemson typically waits until the last day of May or the first day of June for offers to the next class of recruits. Humble and blessed to receive an offer from @ClemsonFB.
