Clemson wide receiver 2016 commit T.J. Chase has transferred back home to play at Plant City High from IMG Academy before the 2015 football season.
Chase wanted to go back home for his final season and be with his friends, family and community that were with him since the beginning of his football playing days. “To finish up with my team and be around my family before I head off to college,” Chase said via Tampa Bay Times. “When I was at IMG, I was living in a dorm, and so coming back home, at Plant City, I just loved it here. To finish up here, it’ll be a great experience before I go up to Clemson. In 2014, Chase had 25 receptions for 521 yards and 5 touchdowns at IMG Academy. “IMG helped me out tremendously,” Chase said. “Just maturing, being on time to meetings and practice and getting things over with quick, just the mental part of it.” Chase will try to enjoy his final high school year before enrolling at Clemson. “It feels like I’m back at home. I feel loose like I have no worries,” Chase said. “Coming back here, it’s back where I come from, where it all started with the (scholarship) offers and everything.” He has national offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, FIU, Florida, Florida Atlantic, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Penn State, South Carolina, South Florida, Temple, Tennessee, UCF, Virginia Tech and others.
