ESPN: NR

Mario Butler was able to take three unofficial visits last week. His first stop was Georgia Tech.

"Georgia Tech was a good trip. All of the coaches were there, and they met with me. I was able to check out their facilities, and I was impressed. The academic counselors showed me, how they help their players succeed in the classroom. Being in Atlanta, it seems like a fast paced campus. You would always have something to do."

Butler drove over to the Palmetto State next, and he checked out Clemson and South Carolina.

"At Clemson, their coaches were on vacation. The running backs coach was there, and he met with me. He seemed pretty cool. He said he was sorry the other coaches couldn't meet with me, but it was good trip. Clemson just seems like a football school. The stadium is the center of the campus, and it just has a football town vide about it.

South Carolina was more like Georgia Tech. It was a city atmosphere. Steve Spurrier, Jr. gave me a tour of the facilities, and he set me up with some of their players. Their players were pretty cool."

Butler is planning an unofficial visit to Washington and Maryland. The Huskies, Terrapins, and Virginia Tech are the favorites along with Clemson, South Carolina, and Georgia Tech for Butler.

"I working on more unofficial visits. I do not have a timetable for a decision, but I will know when it feels right. It is nice to have these options to pick from, and I am just enjoying seeing what all the schools have to offer right now."
