Clemson picked up three commitments in under 24 hours from Thursday to Friday, bolstering the Tigers' 2019 recruiting class rankings two spots to No. 3 overall.
Alabama leads the 247Sports Composite with 16 commits and a 271.76 cumulative rating, followed by Texas A&M's 18-man class (246.36) and then Clemson's 18-commit class (230.89) - ahead of Oklahoma (13 commits; 230.02) and Notre Dame (15 commits; 227.95). In terms of average rating among top-15 teams, it's Georgia (10 commits; 95.16), Alabama (93.81), Ohio State (11 commits; 92.71), Texas (10 commits; 92.37), Florida State (11 commits; 92.27), Oklahoma (92.14), Oregon (90.98), Notre Dame (90.34), Texas A&M (89.82), Mississippi State (15 commits; 89.50), South Carolina (15 commits; 212.53), LSU (14 commits; 89.32), Miami (16 commits; 88.94), Clemson (88.87) and Ole Miss (87.64). Rivals and 247Sports each rank Clemson third overall and ESPN currently rates it sixth, behind Alabama, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Georgia and Notre Dame. The group holds eight players with four-star or higher ratings on ESPN (Frank Ladson, Sheridan Jones, Chez Mellusi, Taisun Phommachanh, Joseph Charleston, Tayquon Johnson, Jaelyn Lay and Hunter Rayburn), seven on Rivals and six on 247Sports. Ladson is the lone 5-star-rated commitment as the third-best-rated receiver and No. 17 overall on 247Sports' Composite Ranking.
