Clemson redshirt junior defensive tackle Carlos Watkins tells ESPN he will return to school for his senior season.

"Getting my degree is very important to me and I also feel as if I can improve on the field as well," Watkins told ESPN's Joe Schad.

Watkins will help anchor a strong Clemson defensive tackle position with Christian Wilkins, Scott Pagano, Jabril Robinson, Dexter Lawrence and others.

For the season, he had 67 tackles, 3.5 sacks and 8 tackles for loss and was the 8th leading tackler for Clemson at his nose guard position. After the regular season, he was named First-team All-ACC by the media.

He had two tackles including a tackle for loss in the National Championship game against Alabama.
