Bowden jokes Danny Kanell is smoking pot with his Clemson-FSU take |
The ACC showdown between Clemson and Florida State is set for Saturday at Doak Campbell Stadium.
Currently, according to most vegas spreads, No. 2 Clemson is an impressive 17-point favorite against the 4-3 Seminoles. However, it could be a close game if Florida State can get constant pressure on true freshman quarterback Trevor Lawrence. It's possible but more than likely a comfortable win for the Tigers. ACC Blitz commentator Tommy Bowden was interviewed on WFNZ The Fan 610 AM recently and joked that analyst Danny Kanell must be high if he thinks that Florida State will give Clemson a close ballgame. "He doesn't think that Florida State gonna win does he? Unless Danny has been smoking pot again, I don't know what he means by close," Bowden said. Bowden has two teams on his radar as elite in 2018 with Clemson and Alabama. "Right now I look at two teams. Clemson and Alabama I think are a notch above the rest of the teams." Bowden believes that Clemson can beat Alabama if they played again in the playoff. "I don't think there is much separation between those two," he said. "I think Clemson has everything it takes to beat a team like Alabama. They got great defense. They haven't played great but they can. They got the potential to do it. They have played really good the last three weeks. Their quarterback is just now starting to blossom."
