Clemson commit signs MLB deal

Clemson shortstop commit Nasim Nunez (Collins Hill HS, Ga.) signed with the Miami Marlins as expected after a No. 46 selection overall in this week's MLB draft.

Nunez was a given contract almost $600,000 over the pick's slot value with a $2.2 million bonus.

Nunez was rated the No. 51 prospect overall going into the draft by MLB.com. He was lauded by MLB.com as possibly "the best defensive shortstop in the 2019 draft."
