Four-star defensive tackle prospect Christian Wilkins committed to the Tigers Monday afternoon, picking Clemson over Penn St. Wilkins is the consensus number one prospect in the state of Connecticut and most services have him ranked as the #8 to #11 DT in the nation.
As a senior, he had 71 tackles, 4 forced fumbles, 22 tackles for loss and 8 sacks. Wilkins was impressive in the Under Armour All-American game this past weekend with four tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack, and a blocked PAT that he returned for a touchdown. Wilkins had offers from most of the big names in college football including Alabama, Auburn, FSU, Florida, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Stanford and Tennessee. Today I would like to announce my verbal commitment to Clemson University. #wetoodeep #onceatigeralwaysatiger #42 pic.twitter.com/ZjvpUFgydN
With @cwilkins42’s pledge today, #Clemson has 13 #ESPN300 commitments. That’s two more than #FSU and more than 10 other #ACC teams combined.
Did not see Christian Wilkins to #Clemson coming. Five-star DT IMO.
