I didn’t get a chance to hear your radio show after you went to practice. What were your impressions? Thank you.

Don,

We were only allowed to watch 45 minutes, and much of that was special teams and stretching. Also, the practice was in shorts, but this is a great looking football team. Like most first practices, we spent time watching the newcomers. Trevor Lawrence looked like Deshaun Watson and Hunter Johnson in their first practices in that he looked good at times and like a freshman at others. Derion Kendrick looks like a true five star. He will make plays as a true freshman. Jackson Carman is a huge man that really moves well. Xavier Thomas is a MAN and plays really hard. His motor is off the charts. KJ Henry is a great looking athlete. Both of the defensive tackles look very promising as well. This group of freshmen is perhaps the most talented looking class I have seen at Clemson, but again this is a very small sample size. I can’t wait to hear more as this spring progresses.

I was wondering if we have any shot, pun intended, at landing EJ Montgomery I know we made the top 11 for him? If we don't are we recruiting any other guys for 2018 basketball or are we more focused on 2019 and is are good performance and the new renovations helping at the interest of some bigger names, especially our in state guys?

After receiving your email, I asked around to the two sources I have on this one. They have their doubts about Clemson’s chances. He hasn’t been on campus recently. The only place I know he has been lately is Duke. Considering the teams involved, I would consider Clemson a long shot at best.
