Mickey,

Really enjoyed being back in the Valley. Seeing friends and feeling the vibe again was magical. I wanted to get your perspective on a couple of observations. I am really excited about the RB's. I had to do a double take when Travis Etienne ran the ball. He looks exactly like Wayne Gallman, especially since he is #9. It's clear who are one and two: Fuller and Choice. The wideouts are big and scary good. Not only does Amari Rogers wear #3, but he looks to be the reincarnation of Artavis Scott. On defense, Tanner Muse hits like Brian Dawkins of old. I am interested to see him against the pass. Defense line is as good as advertised and looking forward to seeing more from Tre Lamar. Finally, Kelly Bryant. What a sweet pass to Deon Cain, but he looked hesitant on some throws. His running ability will serve him well, but I am still concerned he will look to run first. I think we will know much more about him after Saturday. I was impressed, but not willing to anoint at this point. Overall, good way to start the season.

Stuart

Stuart,

I liked what I saw Saturday, but I am still taking the wait and see approach with the running backs. Potential is there, but I want to see results first. I do have confidence in the wide receivers. Rodgers is a future star. It is just a matter of time before he makes a big impact. Muse is a hitter, but I agree that we are still waiting to make evaluations on his coverage skills. Lamar didn’t have his best game, but I am not as worried about him. He is a very smart player that only lacks experience. I was very impressed with Kelly Bryant. If he continues to play at that level, it will be a great year for the Tigers.

Mickey,

What a first weekend college football. Clemson has another chance to be a really good team and make a run at another ACC title but make no mistake after watching games the first long weekend it will not be easy. First of all, Clemson showed no sign of slowing down but Kent State was horrible. No question, Auburn has probably been the focus all summer and they will be a huge test and let's hope the can that the SEC opened on the ACC is now empty. Last year is over and the ACC has work to do to be considered a good football conference but I saw some potentially good ACC teams even though the results were not good.

Georgia Tech looked unstoppable until they stopped themselves and if they remain healthy, they will be a huge, huge hurdle. Louisville and Virginia Tech have very talented teams and will be again hard to beat. Do not think that Florida State will still not be really good. Florida State will be a very good team because of the recruiting they have done and continue to do. Bottom line, the ACC ball is still in Clemson's hands but if anyone thinks the championship was won when the FSU quarterback was injured, think again. Hopefully Clemson will stay healthy and continue their quest for another ACC and national championship. The next two weeks are over the top huge. Go Tigers.

Andy

Andy,

Georgia Tech did look great on offense. Marshall looks like their best quarterback in years. Their defense looked bad in the second half though. I worry about Louisville and Virginia Tech on the road. Those are tough venues and both will be difficult wins. I agree about the Noles. They have a ton of talent and Blackman will be more experienced by November. But the Louisville game now becomes bigger due to Francois’ injury.
