Clemson pro Trayvon Mullen carted off in practice |
Former star Clemson cornerback Trayvon Mullen suffered a setback in his bid to return to regular NFL action in Baltimore.
The Athletic reported the details and implications: "The Ravens had a pretty good first week from an injury standpoint before veteran cornerback Trayvon Mullen fell on his shoulder early in Saturday’s practice. Mullen, who missed all of last season after having summer toe surgery, stayed down for a while before being led off the field. He was in obvious pain as he got up and was carted to the locker room. Harbaugh didn’t have an update after practice. If Mullen has to miss a chunk of time, it would be a major setback for a guy who was considered to be on the roster bubble. He also was enjoying a nice start to camp." Mullen was a second-team All-American and the defensive MVP of the national championship win over Alabama in the 2018 Clemson season. He totaled 94 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, three quarterback pressures, four interceptions, a forced fumble and 12 pass breakups in 1474 snaps over 41 games (26 starts) in his Clemson career. Mullen was claimed on waivers by the Ravens in January 2023 and spent last season on the injury reserve. He started his career as a second-round pick in the 2019 NFL draft by the Raiders and played there until 2021 before short stints with Arizona and Dallas.
