"I just felt comfortable from my first trip to Clemson," Powell told WNCT. "They have a history of great wide receivers and I look forward to my future."

Powell had 67 receptions for 1248 yards and 19 touchdowns as a junior. He also had 12 rushes for 83 yards and two scores. As a kick-off returner, he had 14 returns for 445 yards and a touchdown.

He had 47 catches for 1,228 yards and 21 touchdowns as a sophomore.

He has offers from Alabama, Clemson, East Carolina, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Ohio State, Wake Forest, West Virginia and others.

Powell told TigerNet on Tuesday that Clemson said the coaching staff told him that "I'm their guy and they want me there."

Powell enjoyed his visit last weekend to Clemson's Elite Junior Day. "The atmosphere, like even at a basketball game, its crazy," Powell said. "I love their fan base and the fact thats its a dominant football town."

The 4-star wide receiver was very impressive at the Army Bowl 2014 Combine in Texas where he was named MVP of the entire event (570 players were invited).
