His surgery is scheduled for Wednesday.

“It’s a very tough situation and I feel unfortunate for Carlis, but we have to move forward and get better as a team,” Statesville head coach Randall Gusler said.

Parker threw for 1,800 yards and 13 touchdowns last season, while rushing for 1,300 yards and 14 scores.

He has offers from Duke, East Carolina, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Wake Forest before the injury. Clemson had not offered yet.
