Quarterback 6-4, 190 Statesville, NC View Full Profile missing the rest of the season with a torn lateral collateral ligament in his right knee. His surgery is scheduled for Wednesday. “It’s a very tough situation and I feel unfortunate for Carlis, but we have to move forward and get better as a team,” Statesville head coach Randall Gusler said. Parker threw for 1,800 yards and 13 touchdowns last season, while rushing for 1,300 yards and 14 scores. He has offers from Duke, East Carolina, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Wake Forest before the injury. Clemson had not offered yet.
The Statesville Greyhounds suffered two losses in the span of eight days. The Greyhounds lost 34-17 at home Friday to the South Iredell Vikings, but the bigger loss could be quarterback Carlis Parker
