The Richmond Dispatch released its yearly A-List which polls scouts for the top high school football recruits in the Richmond area.
Clemson 2015 commit Clelin Ferrell was ranked the #1 recruit in the area ahead of Darvin Taylor III (#2), Darrell Taylor (#3), Garrett Taylor (#4), Rick DeBerry (#5) and others. “He’s (Ferrell), overall, the most athletic, and has the best skill set for his position,” one coach told the Richmond Dispatch. “His skill set, athleticism and length is rare.” Ferell was chosen as the top prospect despite missing his senior season with a torn ACL injury. As a junior, Ferrell recorded 60 tackles, 26 tackles for loss, and 11.5 sacks. The 6-5, 225-pound DE prospect chose Clemson over offers from Boston College, Charlotte, Florida, Florida State, Iowa, LSU, Marshall, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and others. He committed to Clemson on 6/4/14.
