Former Clemson DE to be released by Titans

The Tennessee Titans announced on Tuesday that they plan on releasing defensive end Kevin Dodd.

The former Clemson standout was on the 'Did not Report' list on Sunday after not showing up for training camp. He had been dealing with a foot injury (stress fracture that required surgery 2x) since he has been in the NFL.

He also missed all of the voluntary offseason workouts before being at mandatory minicamp.

Despite being cut, Dodd will still receive his entire $4.77 million from his rookie contract.

Last season, Dodd had four tackles in nine games. During his rookie season in 2016, he had a sack and five tackles in nine games before being placed on injured reserve (foot).

He has only appeared in 18 games (270 snaps) since being drafted in the second round (No. 33) out of Clemson in the 2016 NFL Draft.

In 2015, Dodd was a breakout star at Clemson with 62 tackles, 12 sacks and 23.5 tackles for loss (second in the nation behind Clemson's Shaq Lawson).
