A day after entering the NCAA transfer portal, sophomore cornerback Kyler McMichael announced a commitment to North Carolina.

"Beyond blessed and grateful to be a part of such an amazing team last year at Clemson," McMichael said via Twitter, "however today I begin my next chapter in life as I redirect my journey and travel to Chapel Hill, to the University of North Carolina and become a Tar Heel."

The Atlanta-area native played in 12 games last season, totaling 101 snaps and two tackles.

McMichael was rated as high as the No. 53 player nationally and the No. 8 cornerback in the nation (Rivals) out of high school.
