Clemson TE named to Mackey Award watch list

Clemson's Milan Richard was among seven Atlantic Coast Conference tight ends named to the 2018 John Mackey Award watch list Friday.

Given annually to the most outstanding collegiate tight end, the award recipient is selected by vote of the John Mackey Award Selection Committee and the 2018 Mackey Award recipient will be announced on December 5, 2018 and then presented live on December 6, 2018 at The Home Depot College Football Awards Red Carpet Show on ESPNU.

Richard, a Savannah, Georgia native, tallied a career-high 18 receptions for 210 yards and a touchdown in his first year as a starter last season. He was rated a four-star prospect out of high school, with 772 career college snaps over 44 games.

Clemson's Dwayne Allen took home the award in 2011.
