Antonio Williams injury update |
Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney held his media teleconference on Sunday night as he recapped the road loss to Miami.
During the media session, Swinney updated the status of standout receiver Antonio Williams, who was re-injured on Saturday. "Antonio is going to be out. It's not his ankle. But it looks like he's got kind of a toe issue." Swinney said. "He's going to be out for a little while. I hate that for him. He did some good things in the game, and it’s good to get him back out there, but kind of got tackled funny and hurt his toe." Williams will be out for a few weeks as they track his rehab. "Hopefully, he'll be back, but we'll have to see how he progresses these next couple of weeks," Swinney said. Williams had two catches for 47 yards against Miami. For the season, he has 17 receptions for 192 yards and two touchdowns. He had 56 receptions for 604 yards and four touchdowns during his impressive freshman campaign. Swinney was asked if there were any other injuries on the team, and he said that none that he can confirm would be out already for the North Carolina State game.
