Clemson's first reported offer to a 2021 quarterback went out this week to Denton (Tx.)'s Eli Stowers.
He was among the standout performers in Dabo Swinney's camp this week and came into the week with an offer list also including Georgia, LSU, Florida State, Texas A&M and Tennessee. Stowers was named the District 5-6A offensive newcomer of the year as a sophomore. Stowers tossed 13 touchdown passes and rushed for nine on the ground, totaling over 1,100 rushing yards and 1,500 passing yards. He was a 6A state title winner in high jump and a 7-0 mark tied for fourth-best in the nation according to Dallas Morning News.
