Sometimes it pays to play to the whistle.

Kansas City Chiefs defensive back Bashaud Breeland grabbed a fumble in the endzone by Kerryon Johnson and ran for a 100-yard score in the team's 34-30 victory over the Lion on Sunday.

“I saw it down, I didn’t hear no whistle, I saw my teammate pick it up and he kind of put it back down, and I still didn’t hear a whistle,” said Chiefs cornerback Bashaud Breeland told the media during post-game. “So I just went and picked it up and just ran with it, just hoping it wasn’t down.”

It was Breeland's second fumble recovery of the season and just the fourth player in NFL history to return a fumble for 100 yards.

The touchdown was the second-longest defensive touchdown in Chiefs history right behind the 102-yard interception return by Gary Barbaro in 1977.
