WATCH: Tee Higgins gets his high school jersey retired

Clemson receiver Tee Higgins had his high school jersey number retired during 'Tee Higgins Day' at his hometown in Oak Ridge, Tennessee on Friday.

Higgins becomes the third jersey number retired in the 76-year history of the program.

"It means a lot," Higgins said to reporters. "It's great to be only the third guy to have his jersey retired. It's a great feeling. It's a great accomplishment and it wouldn't have happened without God."

Higgins talked about having a day named after him.

"That's crazy. I never thought that would happen. Another great accomplishment. I never thought it would happen but I got to keep moving forward."

The 6-foot-4 playmaker had 59 receptions for 936 yards and 12 touchdowns this past season for Clemson's National title team.

As a high school senior, he had 68 receptions for 1,044 yards and 18 receiving touchdowns. During his junior year, he had 46 receptions for 841 yards and 16 touchdowns. Both seasons he was named Mr. Football in Tennessee at the AAAAA level.
