Clemson pro Albert Huggins signs with Dallas Cowboys |
A Clemson pro is getting another training camp destination.
Former stalwart Clemson defensive lineman Albert Huggins signed with the Dallas Cowboys this week. It is the eighth NFL team for the Orangeburg native since 2019, with several stops being limited to the practice squads. He signed with Houston initially as an undrafted free agent in 2019 and spent time that year with the Philadelphia Eagles (twice) and New England Patriots as well. He was last with the Atlanta Falcons in 2023, where he played in 13 games with five starts and totaled a career-best 22 tackles (seven solo) with two QB hits. Huggins has played in 27 games total over four seasons of action with 41 tackles (10 solo) and one fumble recovery. He is a former high school All-American who completed his Clemson career with 83 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, 7.0 sacks, 25 quarterback pressures and a pass breakup in 911 snaps over 46 games (four starts). With Dexter Lawrence suspended, Huggins stepped into the starting role for Clemson's victories in the Cotton Bowl and the College Football Playoff National Championship to end 2018. Albert Huggins is athletic and can turn and move and has good power for his size his reps increased end of the season and he did well with his opportunity in Atl https://t.co/MB5hBSeuZs pic.twitter.com/Z1udT5q6wA
