49ers great and former Clemson receiver Dwight Clark passed away at the age of 61 after his battle with Lou Gehrig's disease on Monday.
Sports figures and the national media took to Twitter to express their fondest memories of him. Love you bro Dwight Clark!! RIP

Dwight Clark may have been the most humble star the NFL has ever produced. Yes he was fun and funny, but Dwight had an innate goodness to him that will never be forgotten by those who had the good fortune to know him. May God bless Dwight and his family.

The football family lost a great one today.

Dwight Clark was living with QB Steve Fuller sr year at Clemson. Bill Walsh was in town to work out Fuller and Clark answered phone. Walsh invited him to catch passes from Fuller. Walsh didn’t have 1st rd pick and took Joe Montana in 3rd. He loved Clark and took him in 10th.

So sad to hear of Dwight Clark's passing. Great guy. Had just 33 catches in his Clemson career. Would have had 133 the way teams play today. I helped set up Joe Montana's interviews at Notre Dame in 1977 and Dwight Clark's at Clemson in 1978.
