Lewis had national offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Florida, Kansas State, Miami, Missouri, Oklahoma State, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, and others. Clemson offered on 3/3/14.

In 2013, he had 61 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. He was originally from local Greenwood high school in South Carolina.
