Height: 6-1 Weight: 180 Hometown: Tallahassee, FL (Godby HS) Class: 2006

DeAndre McDaniel became the 11th verbal commitment for Clemson Tuesday morning. He committed to Dabo Swinney, becoming the second verbal commitment for Swinney in the 2006 class.
McDaniel is one of the top safety prospects in the nation. This is a huge commitment for Clemson, as Coach Blackwell stated early last week that safety was the most pressing need in recruiting. McDaniel chose Clemson over offers from Auburn, Maryland, Florida, Florida State, and Georgia. McDaniel is close friends with 2005 signees Quentez Ruffin and TJ Williams. He attended the spring game in April with Williams. McDaniel heads a talented team at Godby this year, who has 5-6 division one prospects. We will have more on McDaniel later this evening.
