5-star 2018 defensive back Patrick Surtain Jr. picked Alabama over his finalists Clemson and LSU on Wednesday during a school ceremony televised live on ESPNU.
LSU and Alabama were regarded as the favorites down the stretch, but Clemson was able to draw a visit in January. The American Heritage (Fla.) product is the son of former NFL All-Pro and also American Heritage coach Patrick Surtain.
