The nation’s top-ranked cornerback A.J. Terrell for the 2017 recruiting cycle committed to Clemson on Friday afternoon with a college announcement video.
Terrell out of Atlanta (GA) Westlake chose Clemson over his other finalists Florida and South Carolina. "First I would like to give a thanks to GOD, without him none of this would be possible," Terrell tweeted on Friday. "I would also like to thank my parents for their never ending support, sacrifice, & guidance that they have given me. Also, I would like to thank my coaches, trainers, and mentors who have helped mold me into the young man I am today. THANK YOU! Lastly, I would like to give a special thanks to all the Universities that have offered me a scholarship and the opportunity to play on the next level!!! And to the coaches that I have built a relationship with...I THANK YOU! With that being said, I would like to accept my offer and commit .....Clemson University." #WETOODEEP17 #ALLIN #MYJOURNEY He is rated at least a 4-star cornerback by all the major recruiting services. Earlier this month, Terrell was back on Clemson’s campus for the second time in two weeks, and he took in the Tigers’ first practice in full pads. Terrell visited with his dad and little brother and watched the Tigers go through an entire practice session, and he spent time watching secondary coach Mike Reed put his group through drills. He has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Charlotte, Clemson, Colorado, Duke, Georgia, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Troy, USC, Virginia Tech and others. Clemson offered on 1/21/16. Some of his current physical measurables include a 4.50 40-yard dash, 4.29 shuttle, 30-inch vertical jump, 230 bench press, 320-pound squat, and an 11.20 100 meters. He plans on majoring in sports management in college. Terrell is the 13th commitment for the Tigers for their stellar 2017 class. I am happy to say that I have OFFICIALLY COMMITTED TO CLEMSON UNIVERSITY ?????? #ALLIN #WE2DEEP17 pic.twitter.com/JwtLAMvDsK
