Yes he was fun and funny, but Dwight had an innate goodness to him that will never be forgotten by those who had the good fortune to know him. May God bless Dwight and his family. The Catch is arguably the greatest play in Bay Area sports history. But Dwight Clark’s legacy is soo much more than that. It’s good naturedness. It’s his smile. It’s the way he brought the 49ers brotherhood together by publicly fighting ALS. RIP 87. Gone but never forgotten pic.twitter.com/0NIufU0fwe Still see "The Catch" in my head like it was yesterday. Bill Walsh was in town to work out Fuller and Clark answered phone. Walsh invited him to catch passes from Fuller. Walsh didn’t have 1st rd pick and took Joe Montana in 3rd. He loved Clark and took him in 10th. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of @49ers legend Dwight Clark, who passed away after a battle with ALS. pic.twitter.com/zgKLx786VY RIP Dwight Clark. Dwight Clark made the play that I spent my childhood trying to recreate in the backyard. So sad to hear of Dwight Clark's passing. Great guy. Had just 33 catches in his Clemson career. Would have had 133 the way teams play today. I helped set up Joe Montana's interviews at Notre Dame in 1977 and Dwight Clark's at Clemson in 1978.
