Practice Notes: 8/18 |
- Offensive tackle Zach Green will miss the entire 2005 season with an adominal problem. True freshman Cory Lambert is now pushing Marion Dukes for the starting job at right tackle, and right tackle Christian Capote is out with a strained knee, but he could return tomorrow.
- The freshman continue to draw praise from the head coach. Phillip Merling and Lambert have really turned heads lately. Sadat Chambers is now pushing Roy Walker for the second string spot at cat safety. Rendrick Taylor and Antonio Clay also caught the head coach's eye. - Kelvin Grant is no longer wearing a sling. He is still listed as doubtful for the opener. - The move of Chris McDuffie is going very well. Coach Bowden was near ecstatic, when asked about the play of McDuffie. He remains at left guard, but they believe he could play tackle as well. He is not pushing for a starting job at this point, but Coach Bowden said he could be very soon. - For the second time this fall, Dustin and Roman Fry were in orange jerseys. Dustin is back working at first team center, and Roman is working first left guard and second team center.
