Oliver Leaves Clemson Football Team

Clemson, SC-Offensive lineman Grant Oliver has left the Clemson

football team for personal reasons. Oliver was a first-year

freshman who had come to Clemson on August 5th with the other Tiger

rookies.

"Grant Oliver has left our team for personal reasons. His

status with the team will be reevaluated in January," said head Coach

Tommy Bowden on Wednesday afternoon.

Oliver is a 6-5, 300-pound lineman from Lexington, SC who was

ranked as the #17 overall player in South Carolina by SuperPrep. He

was an all-state player as a senior, all-conference as a junior and

senior.

Ranked as #17 player in South Carolina by SuperPrep...played defensive line most of his high school career, but could play on offensive line at Clemson...all-state as a senior, all-conference, all-area and all-district as a junior and senior...ranked as #49 player in Mid-Atlantic States by Tom Lemming...played his high school football for former Furman head coach Jimmy Satterfield...born 2-4-82....chose Clemson over South Carolina.
