A Dark and bumpy and uncomfortable road - I know.
But, tell me where I am wrong here.
If no terms of NIL deals are out there. Some school who has "sleeper players" on their roster could easily sabotage things on key plays during a game. What's stopping it?
Tell me how it would be stopped or how is it regulated out; if I am wrong?
If you can pay a player. Don't think for a 2nd some overzealous booster wouldn't offer big money to sabotage a game that favors their school of choice.
I don't have an issue with NIL - but some regulations and rules need to be in place. A lot more transparency as to the terms should be provided to the school that is "providing that player a platform to advertise and profit from"!

Idk why but your comment made me laugh so hard. Is this a serious question? haha Pretty sure big booster that has access to a player on another team prob would have just paid so player to come play for them. You might can get away with it once or twice as a player but you will be benched if your obviously dropping balls and doing stuff to hurt the team on purpose would be very hard to hide imo. Go Tigers!!!

That's because you are thinking "season"!
I am thinking "game". More to the point; the game against the team that booster supports.
And, why did the kid not go there you ask, if the booster could get them on "the take". Perhaps; and watch this; "the money was better at the other school. But, that player being all about money has shown their hand so to speak. They will sell their services for money; be it a season or "a game"!
Could also be, they choose the other school for "honorable reasons". But, if it's okay to tamper with other people's players/students - it's possible for this to happen.
I can sense the cynicism in your post. But, I think you haven't done enough of a deep dive into the prospect of this. It only takes one play in a tight game to change the outcome. This has happened and has been documented(their is a Netflix special on it or maybe Max). This is nothing new.
What's different is being able to offer players money " in the open with undisclosed terms of what they need to do in order to get said money"!

I get what you’re saying and technically you are right. A player could take money from another team donor and sabotage or hurt the team for a pay day. There nothing to stop that from happening so yes it can be done, but the practical side or actually getting this to happen would be a lot harder said then done. To your point though there is no rule to stop it, there are pretty much no rules ncaa can enforce when it comes to NIL

Right!
This is why they get compensated the way they do. And, have other incentives built into their contracts.
*Hit this TD # make this much more.
*Get this many tackles and you can earn X.
Most College players aren't going to see that type of money. For one game. One play(just be horrible - but make it look good). Especially if you aren't the Superstar who's making big NIL money.

Are waaaaaay smarter than the people who would try to cheat them. Last year the Alabama baseball coach got fired because he told a friend of his, who was at a sports book in Cincinnati at the great American ballpark, that he was not starting their ace pitcher vs LSU.
The network of sportsbook security is so sophisticated that a bet placed on a regular season nothing college baseball game set off alarms several states away that led to the removal of Bama baseball from all sportsbooks, the banning of the bettor, and the firing of the coach that provided the inside info. IDK; somehow I think we’ll be able to figure out whether or not the kicker in the 0310 state vs Michigan game is on the take.

....the widespread acceptance and promotion of betting has a far greater chance of causing the problem of which you speak.
20 years ago professional leagues would not even consider putting a franchise in Vegas because they thought the possibility of being in that town might lead to game fixing.
Now, NFL and NBA and every other sport - including colleges - promote and encourage it. I guess they think players today have more character and integrity than players of past generations.

Will the players be fined for bad behavior? Will they be critiqued more for bad performance? What if the best players aren’t making the most money? Paying amateur athletes replaces the love of the game with money.
Other questions. Will there be a draft? Will Yale be future champs?
Also, how do they interact with other students? It was difficult enough when engaging the athletes I when I was in school.

Ludicrous. They want to win and if they blow it they will be off the team or not playing. That's a non issue generally. Sure there are instances as there always has been, but generally it's so rare and the NIL makes it even less likely.

People that play football he really wants to win. Getting paid to play actually reduces the chances of someone getting paid to throw a game or shave points.

It's actually easier to pay a player off if they're poor and uncompensated.
People that make a fair market wafe for their labor don't need money as much, so there's less temptation for them to cheat.

Really? Generally speaking, humans making 10 bucks an hour want 20, 50k want 100k, 1 mil want 2 mil, etc. Not to mention the "extra illegal" part is untaxed. More $$$ is the only reason PGA millionaires jumped to LIV. IMHO

Your examples are all legitimate. They are based on fair market value.
More poor people commit crime than do rich people. They are more desperate, and more willing to resort to criminal activity just for the basics. Rich people generally don't have that motivation or the willingness to risk their freedom.
There are exceptions, but the FBI crime stats support my position.

football. And, only the Mob probably knows how many times it has ALREADY been done. Why do you think there are sophisticated computer programs out there now that look for abnormal betting patterns on particular games in just about every sport where betting is a thing?

I get all of that.
Clearly, some people aren't stuck in how "it's been" thinking. Some people can see "the direction" it's headed as opposed to current state and future state.
I am not saying players don't want to win. But, MONEY is the motivation behind a player going to Big 10 or SEC schools. Yet, many people on TNET when I say, money could be a factor in if a player would be tempted to throw a game or not "don't think so"!
I mean, an education and platform to show off your skill isn't enough motivation. That, you need whoever has the most NIL money - is the thought process with many doomsday posters on TNET. Only to now on this topic act as though a kid who is just like everyone else in the world - "typically can always stand to have MORE" wouldn't take a pay out.
A pay out the giver doesn't have to hide anymore.
I know it's always been there furthermore, my thing is now, there are no deterrents to tampering with a player. It's possible for someone to pay them. Nobody knows the terms of that "private deal" and in a football game; nobody makes all the blocks, tackles, passes, catches. So, just because it happens at a critical time, may not stand out.
I figured many wouldn't get it. And have been proven correct!
My thing is: remember this years from now when there is a 30 for 30 about it!!!
