View Full Profile loves the passion of Clemson University, from the coaches, students and fans to the administrators and teachers.

Because of that passion North, one of the top players in the state of North Carolina, says Clemson is one of the schools at the forefront of his thinking.

North is a 4-star receiver out of Charlotte’s (N.C.) Mallard Creek, a 6-3, 205-pounder who has offers from 18 schools, including an offer from Notre Dame this week. Among the other schools that have offered are Clemson, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio St., South Carolina and Virginia.

However, that Clemson passion is what stands out for North, who hopes to major in political science.

“The thing I like best about Clemson is that they have a passion for winning down there,” North told TigerNet this week. “I could see that when I went down there, with both their academic and athletic philosophies. Their academics go hand-in-hand with their athletics, and that is what I like best about it.”

North said the offers are exciting, but he is just trying to take it all in before making a decision.

“I am just really trying to enjoy it right now,” he said. “I am trying to be humble about it. I am eager to go and visit some of these places and see what they have to offer. Right now, I don’t have a top five or anything like that. But I can tell that Clemson, North Carolina and N.C. State are at the top because I have been there and seen those places. I know what they are about.”

North is a speedster who says he is using this spring and summer to focus on his fundamentals, but as a speedster he can't help but notice what Sammy Watkins did at Clemson this past season.

“I watched Sammy and I like their offense,” North said. “I feel like I am an electrifying player, and I feel like their offense is electrifying. I could definitely see myself there.”

North visited the Clemson campus in late January, and said he was pleased with what he saw.

“We got to see the jerseys hanging in the lockers, and we took a big tour,” he said. “We got to see the academic side of things and the whole campus. It was a great visit.”

As a junior, North caught 39 passes for 1,022 yards and 19 touchdowns. He also rushed 18 times for 410 yards, an average of 22 yards per carry, with four touchdowns. He also scored four touchdowns on kickoff returns of 89, 90, 92 and 97 yards.
