Clemson has already landed the best offensive player from Byrnes High School in Willy Korn, and the Tigers have set their sights on the defensive side. Stanley Hunter anchors the Byrnes defense, who gets overshadowed by the outstanding offensive numbers Byrnes puts up.

Hunter made over 150 tackles last season. He has been offered by Clemson and North Carolina. Last Saturday, he had a chance to take in Clemson's Orange and White game.

"It was a good visit. I went with Willy. I had a chance to talk to Coach (David) Blackwell. Coach Blackwell and I have built a really good relationship. I probably talk with Coach Blackwell more than any other coach. Coach Blackwell is a big reason why Clemson is right at the top of my list."

Clemson sits as the favorite for Hunter, but if Georgia offered that could change.

"Georgia was my favorite school growing up. I went there for their Junior Day, and I had a really good time. Coach (Mark) Richt took some time to talk to me, and he let me know they were still evaluating me. I am very comfortable with Clemson or Georgia. Clemson has the edge, because they have already offered me."

We will continue to track Hunter, but we do believe he is a likely candidate to be the next Clemson commitment for the 2007 class.
